Modified Engine Rebuilders TOS

Modified Engine Rebuilders, LLC., hereby known as "MER", wants to make sure their customers are completely satisfied with their engine rebuild, therefore this TOS is very important for you to read and understand.

MER wants you to understand the "good" and the "bad" about engine rebuilding in your vehicle. It is important that the customer understands that MER is NOT a diagnostic center, repair center or electrical shop and that many vehicles will need some or all of the expertise of one of those specific services ONCE we rebuild the Engine. In most cases we "CAN" diagnose the problem and correct it if such a service is needed but that is not our main function and these additional services (if needed) will be charged on a separate invoice and paid for by the customer separately. These services will also only be done once the Original Inovice for the Rebuilt Engine is paid in full requardless of the vehicle starting or not due to any of the abovce listed problems. (Please see "EXAMPLE PROBLEM" below for a full explination).

Any type of Electrical Part/Componant, Fuel Injectors, ECU's, Wire Harnesses, Cam Sensors, CrankShaft Sensors, Fuel Pumps, Fuel Filters, Gas Lines, Gas Tanks, Alternators, Power Steering Pumps, Radiators, Turbos, Superchargers, Air Coolers, Headers, Manifolds, Mufflers, Batteries, Guages, Tires, Distributers, Carbuerators, Belts, Hoses, Security Systems, Pullys, Timing Cover Plates. 


This is a simple but accurate problem that arrises time and time again and we here at MER would like to "head off" the potential "mis-understand" customers may have. We have taken the time to explain this to you not to scare you away but to inform and edcuate you in advance rather than have hard feelings later.

EXAMPLE:  A Customer brings/tows us a vehicle that has been sitting in their yard for a month, isn't running or not able to run and no real knowledge of what blew the engine. This causes many problems such as a dead battery, bad gas, gunked lines, clogged injectors and more. They fail to tell any of this to us and we proceed with the engine rebuild. We pull the engine from the non-running vehicle and we rebuild and re-install it. At this point our job is completed and we are ready to have you pick up the vehicle. However, something comes up; a bad Injector, a blown cam sensor, gunked gas lines or worse, an electrical problem... this all could prevent us from being able to start or keep your newly rebuilt engine running. What is the first thing the customer says to us?  "I don't care what is wrong, i'm not paying for the job until the car is running".. that's a No No!.. Folks, we did our job at this point, if there are "Other" problems with your vehicle that prevent it from running, they need to be diagnosed and corrected and we fully understand that and can handle that, but these other problems could take many days to figure out, or many days for additional (unplanned) parts to arrive.

This causes 3 problems:

             1.  You don't get your car back when expected
             2.  We get stuck with the car in our shop past our planned timeframe.
             3.  We don't get paid for our completed job until all the "other" problems are fixed.

This doesn't work for you or us so we've implimented the following guidlines to help both MER and You get though the time consuming process of rebuilding your engine and possibly any additional work needed.

            1.  Once the Engine is rebuilt and installed,. the job is considered completed.
            2.  The Original Invoice MUST be paid in full before MER will start on any "other" issues.
            3.  All Diagnostic work needed to be done will be billed separately.
            4.  All additional parts needed must be approved and paid for by the customer in advance. 

Keep in mind the best way to avoid any of these issues is to give us as much detail as you can about how your engine blew and what you think may have caused it.



Purchases will appear on your credit/debit card statement as “Modified Engine Rebuilders” or “Modified". You agree not to file a credit card or debit card chargeback with regard to any purchase and instead abide by the dispute resolution procedures outlined below. In the event that you breach this agreement and file a chargeback, upon a resolution in our favor of the chargeback by either the credit card issuing bank, the credit card processor or by VISA or MASTERCARD, you agree to reimburse us for any costs incurred in researching and responding to such chargeback, including without limitation, our actual costs paid to the credit card processor or our banks, other third parties, and the reasonable value of the time of our employees and owners spent on the matter, as determined in our discretion in good faith. You further agree that all dispute resolution procedures below will be deemed waived by you, and that these amounts will be added to the original amount of the order, and that this total amount will then be immediately due and payable. If your chargeback is upheld, you agree to pay all of the same costs, in addition to the original purchase price, but we will use the dispute resolution procedures below to confirm and collect such amounts.
In the event that a chargeback is placed or threatened on a purchase, we also reserve the right to report the incident for inclusion in chargeback abuser database(s) of our choosing and in our sole discretion. The information reported will include name, email address, order date, order amount, IP address, full address, and phone number. Being listed on such databases may make it more difficult or even impossible for you to use (any of) your credit card(s) on future purchases with us or other merchants. Chargeback abusers wishing to be removed from the database shall make payment to us for any outstanding amount owed to us + $50 for processing and handling by wire transfer or such other means as we may require.
